It came as quite a relief for the film fraternity hoping that this would curb the piracy issue that was threatening the whole industry. But the illegal download site was unaffected and was functioning as usual. With the increase of ticket prices due to GST and taxes imposed by State Government, more people will resort to the pirated copies from these illegal torrent sites to watch latest movies. Recently, a list of movies which were downloaded the most from the site Tamil Rockers and other illegal downloading site.
According to the list the Baahubali is the most downloaded movie on Internet. The Pirate copy of this film has been downloaded 1.72 million times while 1.67 illegal copies of Vijay's Theri was downloaded from Tamil Rockers and other illegal torrent sites. Bollywood movies like Dilwale and Sultan stands at second and third places with 1.33 Million and 1.27 million downloads respectively. The Rajinikanth movies, Enthiran and Kabali, occupy the fourth and fifth places respectively. The Shankar directorial Enthiran was downloaded 1.22 million times and Ranjith's Kabali was downloaded 1.16 million times.

The numbers stated above is a reflection of the people who watch movies from the illegal torrent sites. For Tamil industry, Tamil Rockers is the major threat as the site releases the DVD-Rip copies of the movie within a week or two of its release. It is a sad state of affairs for the film industry and the tax issues have made it even worse. The film fraternity is trying hard to fix the problem and lets hope all these issues will be solved amicably.
